Wreaths Across America (GLNC Holly, MI)

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA (Holly, MI), Saturday, December 14 @ 9 AM

We are pleased to invite you to support this annual volunteer effort to place wreaths at 30,000 military gravesites at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. It’s the mission of Wreaths Across America. Join the more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to Remember, Honor and Teach at more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad.

The chapter is asking up to 20 current Chapter members (plus optionally 1 guest per member) to participate in this event.

The Wreaths Across America Ceremony and wreath laying event will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery beginning at 11:00 AM on December 14th, 2024.

A procession of trucks with the wreaths will arrive at approximately 11:20 AM. The wreath laying will begin shortly after the trucks are in place.

Please note, all volunteer parking will be off site at the Ascension Genesys Hospital located at 1 Genesys Parkway off Holly Rd just west of the I-75 Holly Rd exit. Signs will direct you where to park. Shuttle buses to the cemetery will begin running at 9:30 AM. The buses will be unloading and picking up at the administration building. Parking at the cemetery is reserved for handicapped and elderly volunteers needing assistance only.

NOTES:
1) You will be standing and walking outdoors for several hours in December, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
2) This event takes place rain, snow, or shine!
